  1. Hey. Thanks for your continuing blog, especially for the included links to your Garmin activities. It would be nice to have a consolidated list of typical routes in the valley, and these Garmin entries could be a great resource.

I'm always intrigued by the roads I see far off from I-10 whenever I drive into L.A. Heading up the hills before the city begins to take over the roads. Do you have rides that start in or extend to Cabazon, Banning, Beaumont, and other nearby areas?

  2. Thanks for the thanks. I agree it would be nice if there was a site that listed people's favorite routes. There could be A Team, B Team, commuter routes, etc... I'm too old to do the longer rides like I once did back before there was such thing as a Garmin. Most of my rides begin and end when I walk out my door. It isn't often that I drive somewhere for a ride. In the past I rode as far west as Redlands, then bonked in Beaumont and had to call for a ride home. I have been to the dinosaurs a few times, but other than that my rides are usually pretty local. My favorite destinations are: Snow Creek and Whitewater for the views, the Palm Springs Indian Canyons for the serenity, 1,000 Palms Oasis just because, Cabot's Museum, just because and the Salton Sea because it is there.
