1st CV Link Business is Open, 01-26-2016
Moguel standing on the bike-way just east of Cathedral Canyon Rd. in Cathedral City. This bike-way is between Cathedral Canyon Rd. and Date Palm Rd. on the south levee of the Whitewater River Channel.
Moguel has beverages, snacks and a restroom available for cyclists and pedestrians who are using the bike-way. There are tables inside and out and a couple of comfortable looking sofas. A bike rack will be available soon.
Moguel is owner of Moguel & Kaya Auto Detail, http://www.moguelkayaautodetail.com/. He just moved his business here a few months ago and originally this was going to be the waiting room, but it is morphing into something more. He is open from 6 - 4 daily. He says his wife is a bakery chef so I am looking forward to what is to come. Stop by and say "Hello" and wish him and his business well.
Today's ride: 27 miles, Bob Hope Loop, https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1028641557 .

Rode to Nowhere, 01-01-2016
End of Wendy Road off of Tipton Road, Banning Pass.
The Whitewater River coming out of Whitewater Canyon... surface water in the desert.
Section of Tipton Road that had recently been resurfaced... what's up with that?
I have dedicated today's "ride to nowhere" to those anti-CV Link people who believe CV Link is a "bridge to nowhere," even though it will connect all Coachella Valley communities.
I'm a roadie. I ride to ride. Today I took advantage of this beautiful, clear, cool desert morning to do one of my favorite rides to nowhere. I rode out past Windy Point on Highway 111 to the end of Wendy Rd. and then turned around and rode home. It was a beautiful and peaceful ride. If I had been quicker with my camera I would have been able to photograph a train carrying military weapons of war, especially tanks, reminding me that it isn't peaceful everywhere. I am grateful for what we have here.
